Trio Los Yunquenos

triolosyunquenosbest1The Trio Los Yunquenos have been performing since 1982 with a level of sophistication and professionalism only available to a mature group.  The trio began with the idea of promoting traditional Cuban trio music.  They performed in the various local hotels, radio and television programs such as Palm Trees and Sugarcane and in Trio Festivals around Cuba.

  Los Yunquenos have played at many national and international festivals.  Here is a small list:

  1. Festival of the Farola - Baracoa
  2. Festival of Fire - Holguin
  3. Festival of the Working Man - LasTunas
  4. Festival of the Guantanameran
  5. Television program Palm Trees and Sugarcane
  6. Literary Festival in Havana 
  7. The Annual Tour de Cuba of Cyclists which starts in Baracoa 

In between festivals, you will find them at various restaurants and venues all over Baracoa. 

 

Amado Lobaina - Guitar, lead singer and director
Amado started out as the lead singer with Trio Matrines in Guantanamo.  He has had the opportunity to perform in Merida, Mexico at the Floral Games.  Another pleasure was performing with Trio Ensueno from Santiago de Cuba.  Now he is the lead singer and director of Trio Los Yunequenos

 

Marin Estévez - Guitar and second voice 
Marin began his professional career in 1974 with the group Duo Los Yunquenos.  In 1982 the Duo became  a Trio and began to perform as professionals on various TV and Radio programs.  Marin also joined with the Trio Los Romanticos until they left for Havana in 1999 and performed with the Quartet Black Gold until 2003.  Now he is exclusively with Trio Los Yunquenos.



Inaudi Marin Lovaina - Guitar and third voice
Inaudi began his professional career in 1992 with the Folkloric group Cacique Guama.  He has worked at Radio Emisorra of Baracoa as both vocalist and guitarist.  In 2000 Inaudi left for Havana where he joined the Quartet Los Consules.  There they performed in the restaurant La Bodequita.  When that gig was over, Inaudi returned to rejoin the Trio Los Yunquenos in Baracoa.
